About DETERMINED

Determined documentary film still
A film still from Determined.

The independent documentary portrays three women, Barb, Karen and Sigrid, who participate in the WRAP research study and return every two to three years to undergo a multidisciplinary oral cognitive test. This battery of questions looks for problems with their memory that could be a signal of their worst fear—the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

Therese Barry-Tanner is a producer of the film and DETERMINED began as her idea in 2011. Barry-Tanner understands Alzheimer’s disease at an intimate level as a person who served as a caregiver for her mother with Alzheimer’s disease. She is also a WRAP Participant. She said she hopes DETERMINED will bring the audience through the emotional journey and difficult decisions made when a loved one lives with or dies from Alzheimer’s disease. She also hopes the film will share the experience of being a research participant and an inside look at the people working to find a cure. Most importantly, she wants to stimulate people to action that the film may inspire.

DETERMINED was previously titled Will I Be Next.  Read about the film on its website and follow their Facebook page  and Twitter Page for news and updates about how to view the film.
