The winter 2026 edition of our WRAP Update newsletter is now available, offering a look at new research, program milestones, and team updates. This issue celebrates WRAP’s 25th year and includes a cover letter from Dr. Sterling Johnson reflecting on participants’ long-term commitment to advancing Alzheimer’s science as he moves to a shared leadership role on the study. Since Johnson became the study PI in 2014, participants have completed more than 5,000 study visits and contributed to over 411 scientific publications, including 62 in 2025. These efforts have strengthened early detection methods, supported development of the first FDA‑approved blood test, and advanced understanding of brain aging.
Read an introduction to Dr. Jessica Caldwell, WRAP’s new co‑principal investigator, who brings expertise in dementia prevention and the study of sex and gender influences on Alzheimer’s risk and resilience. The newsletter also highlights community updates from our WAI Regional Milwaukee Office, including the addition of nurse practitioner Ashley LaRock and details about the 12th Annual Breaking the Silence event scheduled for April 17, 2026.
Recent papers utilizing WRAP are also included. A research spotlight explains the Amyloid Clock, a model developed to estimate when amyloid buildup begins and how it may guide earlier intervention.
The WRAP Update is mailed to active WRAP participants twice each year and distributed at research visits as supplies last. Click here to download a pdf of the newsletter. Copies of past newsletters are listed on our newsletter webpage.
