Researchers from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, including from Wisconsin Registry for Alzheimer’s Prevention, recently presented at the 15th Annual Edition of the Human Amyloid Imaging (HAI) conference. The three-day event focused on highlighting developments in neuroimaging research, held between January 11-13, 2023, in Miami, Florida.
Tobey Betthauser, PhD, Sterling Johnson, PhD, and Karly Cody, PhD candidate, led presentations during the HAI conference that focused on amyloid PET and tau PET imaging. Betthauser also served on the program committee and was a 2023 Theme Co-chair for the conference, along with director of PET Physics in the Waisman Brain Imaging Lab, Bradley Christian, PhD.
Matt Zammit, PhD, was awarded the HAI Young Investigator Award for his research presentation on longitudinal increases in tau and early amyloid change in individuals with Down syndrome. Both Zammit and Cody were HAI Travel Scholarship recipients. This scholarship is available to students and postdocs to fund flights, hotel, and/or registration expenses to attend 2023 HAI.
Other researchers from the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, including Amy Kind, MD, PhD, Andrea Gilmore-Bykovskyi, PhD, RN, and Ozioma Okonkwo, PhD, were highlighted in a keynote speech by Monica Rivera Mindt, PhD, during the conference.
